Supporting 5,500+ GPs to deliver 25,000,000 patient visits across
600 General Practices.
The PCBC and our members are deeply committed to ensuring General Practice is an attractive profession that delivers timely access to primary healthcare for all Australians, now and into the future.
Our Purpose
The Primary Care Business Council (PCBC) was formed in 2022 by seven of Australia’s largest General Practice providers. The PCBC now comprises eight providers, and together, we offer a single voice for all independent operators, regardless of size and location, about critical issues impacting the sustainability of Primary Care.
As practice owners, we play a vital and integral role in the delivery of primary care and are positioned to advise and affect meaningful change.
Given our breadth, the PCBC and our members have unique insights and perspectives into the Primary Care system not readily accessible to other primary care stakeholders, including:

-
The ongoing viability and sustainability;
-
The needs of patients and communities; and
-
Challenges facing its workforce (GPs, Nurses, and Allied Health).
These insights and perspectives result from experience and real-time data gathered across a large section of Primary Care, giving us a unique capability to quickly and easily identify trends and accurately forecast changes occurring within our sector.
Our purpose is to use this data to inform and collaboratively work with Government and other industry bodies to deliver significant and sustainable evidence-based improvements to Primary Care that maintains patient access and help ease pressure on the broader healthcare system.
The PCBC and our members are deeply committed to ensuring General Practice is an attractive profession that delivers timely access to primary healthcare for all Australians, now and into the future.
